Fishing News on Hatteras Island

Surrounded by water and in close proximity to the Gulf Stream, Hatteras Island emanates a life rich in fish culture. Some islanders fish for a living, some islanders fish for fun, some islanders sell fish in their restaurants and some islanders prepare bountiful fish-rich meals for their families. One thing is for sure, the various Hatteras Island fisheries have an impact on those who are blessed to call this place their home and we love sharing them with our friends and neighbors. Inshore catches were mainly Bluefish and some Spanish Mackerel. We also saw Cobia and King Mackerel a little further out.

Great fishing again today! Offshore we had reports of blue Marlin releases, plus limits Amberjack, and Gray Tilefish. Also Mahi, a few Golden Tile, and Beeliners brought in.

Inshore we saw some nice Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, a Cobia, and a few Sheepshead to round out the day.

Great fishing today! Offshore we had a couple Blue Marlin releases, several Blackfin Tuna, large Gray Tilefish and Golden Tilefish, scattered Mahi and Barracuda.
