Fishing News on Hatteras Island

Surrounded by water and in close proximity to the Gulf Stream, Hatteras Island emanates a life rich in fish culture. Some islanders fish for a living, some islanders fish for fun, some islanders sell fish in their restaurants and some islanders prepare bountiful fish-rich meals for their families. One thing is for sure, the various Hatteras Island fisheries have an impact on those who are blessed to call this place their home and we love sharing them with our friends and neighbors. While the docks are always abuzz with fishing action, sharing with you is exactly what we aim to do. Another great day of fishing despite the heat!

Inshore we saw some nice Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, plus a few Drum. A few jacks were in several of the catches.

Great fishing again today! Offshore we had reports of blue Marlin releases, plus limits Amberjack, and Gray Tilefish. Also Mahi, a few Golden Tile, and Beeliners brought in.

Inshore we saw some nice Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, a Cobia, and a few Sheepshead to round out the day.

Great fishing today! Offshore we had a couple Blue Marlin releases, several Blackfin Tuna, large Gray Tilefish and Golden Tilefish, scattered Mahi and Barracuda.

Inshore boats had good catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, plus a few Drum.

Fishing picked back up some today with offshore boats bringing in nice catches of Blackfin Tuna, some Yellowfin Tuna, and a few Mahi.

Fishing slowed down again today with a lot of boats scrapping together their catches. We saw a mix of inshore, offshore, and bottom fish brought back to the docks:

The weather finally laid down again and we had a beautiful day on the water.

Offshore boats brought in nice catches of Mahi and huge Wahoo! Plus some Amberjack and Barracuda. 

Inshore we saw good catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, a few Drum, and reports of Cobia.

Fishing was still on the slow side overall but boats still brought in some fish to the docks. Offshore we had a sailfish release, several Amberjack, a few Mahi, some Blackfin Tuna, and a Yellowfin.

Inshore boats had some nice Cobia, Bluefish, a few Drum, and Spanish Mackerel.
